I had a really lovely Christmas this year. Despite an exceptionally poorly week leading up to Christmas I managed to improve enough to be able to enjoy the day!
I got some gorgeous crochet, craft and baking books which I can’t wait to make use of! So, hopefully, now that Christmas is over, I can start some new projects and post more frequently about them. I'm definitely looking forward to working through some new crochet projects and baking more regularly :)
Anyway here is my favourite picture from the day of me and my mum.

2. Looking through crochet, craft and baking books I got for Christmas!
3. Snuggled in bed with the remnants of a chocolate orange while crocheting some of my new hexagon blanket, which I’ll try and post about properly soon!

Major lack of updates
Whoops, haven’t updated in ages. I’ve been busy starting volunteering towards a vinspired award which is exciting.
I hope to do a crochet post soon as I’ve finished my granny stripes blanket and started a gorgeous new hexagon blanket!
And I’ve been getting super excited and busy planning Christmas! So here’s a couple of festive pictures to get you in the Christmas spirit…

Yummy Cake!
So I spent a lovely morning baking this morning. I do love baking. And eating the result, obviously. Today’s creation… a lovely light sponge with a chocolate buttercream filling covered in milk chocolate, maltesers, white maltesers and smarties! Yum!
Happy days :) x

Andy the Alien
So I have this gorgeous book called Super-cute crochet. My mum bought it for me and I wasn’t all that excited about the front cover, a little to cutesy for me but inside there are some absolutely gorgeous animals.
You may remember my post about Ollie the Octopus a while back. He is also from this book. I’d definitely recommend it!
Anyway, here he is…
The colours haven’t reproduced all that well, the green is actually really bright, almost fluorescent! Hope you like him :)

Happy days
Its been gloriously sunny for this time of year which has meant a few unexpected trips to the ice-cream van in October!
I also have various crochet projects on the go at the moment. Will be posting photos when complete! I can’t wait to see the gorgeous alien finished! He just needs 3 eyes and 6 legs!
And as usual I’m getting in to the christmas spirit too early for my family’s liking! But christmas crochet makes me all excited!!
Much love xxxxxxxxx

Orang-utan adoption
So I just adopted an orang-utan from the WWF and this is the adoption pack that arrived :) The teddy is really rather cute and Molly has her eye on it! It was quite interesting reading all about the orang-utans and the WWF.

Post Pals
Post pals is a charity dedicated to making sick children smile.
Their website is www.postpals.co.uk where you can find information about all the pals and their siblings. By sending a card, letter, gift or email to a child you know that you have brightened the day of a seriously ill child or their sibling.
Gifts don’t need to be expensive. Once Vikki (who set up post pals) sent some confetti stars to a young child who was screaming through her chemo and nothing they were trying would calm her down. They gave her some post to open and when she opened her card some confetti stars tumbled out. She stopped crying and started making pretty patterns with them.
Maybe next time you go on holiday you could take a minute to send a postcard to a child. They love to receive post from all over the world and you can sit back and know you have created a smile.

Learning to draw
I love being creative but I can’t say I’ve ever been very good at drawing but I’ve made it my mission to try and change this. I’m not wanting much, I just want to improve my drawing skills a little. So here are a few fairy drawings I’ve copied out of my flower fairy book. Hopefully next time I post my drawing will be better!
It’s finished!
So for a very long time (I’ve lost track of how long exactly!) I have been decorating my wardrobe because I tend to attack anything plain that comes near me with prettiness! Anyway, here is a picture… (It’s not a great photo but you get the idea!)
Top left is buttons and top right is magazine clippings/doodles/photos. Bottom left is my favourite photos of mine at the moment and bottom right are hearts I have made including crochet, paper, glittery, sequined etc..

Cocktails and cakes
So the idea of turning 18 is freaking me out somewhat but, on Tuesday, the girls came round and we had cocktails and cake and I really enjoyed it. It was lovely to see them all, though half a cocktail in and the migraine kicked in but I managed to stop it in time. I <3 Migraleve! And the pain the next day was definitely worth it! I’m not quite so scared about my actual birthday now. I think I’m learning to enjoy it. Age is just a number. Anyway, here are some pictures…
